Make the nights brighter with better headlight maintenance! Your headlights may instantly power on when you need them, but that does not mean that they are in the right shape to illuminate your evenings. There are more important factors to consider regarding the lights. For instance, are the lamps sufficiently bright? What about the visibility level? The Concord Honda service team recommends the following maintenance tips to help with your car lights.
Check for Intensity - Headlights may be working correctly, but because they can naturally become dull over time, you may want to replace them. To check for brightness, park the vehicle on a level surface about five feet from a wall and turn on the lights. The light pool should be bright white; if dim or yellow, you need new lights.
Check for Focus - A focus check should be done when checking the brightness. The beams of light should adequately aim and should hit similar height with the wall used to test for intensity. If the lights aim too low or too high, they are likely to blind other drivers, preventing them from seeing clearly.
